Campus ServicesOn This PageThe following is a list of campus services provided by other Stanford offices. Medical ServicesVaden Health Center provides services to registered students. Most are free to registered students year-round. Spouses and domestic partners can use most services on a fee basis. International StudentsThe Bechtel International Center provides information for F-1 and J-1 students enrolled in degree programs at Stanford. They also provide information about programs and services for families of international students. Undergraduate Advising and ResearchThe goals of the UAR are to help students: to realize the full intellectual richness of undergraduate life at Stanford; to develop their scholarly interests before and after they declare a major; to overcome obstacles to academic success; to immerse themselves in their chosen fields; to engage with faculty; to take advantage of academic opportunities and resources outside their major departments; and, for some students, to prepare for post-baccalaureate study.The UAR also helps students access the great variety of research and creative opportunities open to them in the fine arts, humanities, engineering, social sciences, and natural sciences. Freshman & Transfer StudentsThe Freshman Dean’s Office, in collaboration with campus colleagues, introduces incoming new students and their parents to opportunities and resources both in and out of the classroom through New Student Orientation and other initiatives. ID Card OfficeThe Stanford Card Office oversees the production of new and replacement cards, maintains a database of active students (from Student Records) and faculty and staff (from Personnel), installs and maintains card readers, and assists in developing new Stanford ID Card applications. http://www.stanford.edu/services/campuscard/cardoffice.html Student AffairsThe Office of the Vice Provost of Student Affairs is concerned with the overall quality of student life at Stanford for all matriculated students. Through its various offices, it supports teaching, learning, research, and service. http://www.stanford.edu/dept/vpsa Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU)The ASSU provides funding to over five hundred volunteer student organizations (VSO) that provide the majority of cultural, political, recreational and religious programming for the campus. The ASSU also works to represent the interests, needs, and perspectives of Stanford students at every level of decision making within the University. |
