Information For:

Graduate Students

Congratulations on your offer of admission to Stanford University!

How to Accept Your Offer of Admission
Axess (https://axess.stanford.edu) is a web-based student information system.

As a newly-admitted student you may use Axess to respond to the offer of admission. First, you will need to create a SUNet ID (Stanford University Network Identifier) a username which, along with your password, proves that you are affiliated with Stanford and are eligible to use its computing infrastructure and computing services. You will be asked to provide your student ID and Personal Identification Number (PIN) when creating your SUNet ID. Your student ID is a unique number assigned to your academic record. It is emailed by Graduate Admissions to applicants who are offered admission. Your PIN is a five-digit number representing the month and day of your birth preceded by a leading zero. For instance, if you were born on May 9, your PIN is 00509. Note the two leading zeros since the first character of the PIN is 0 and the numeric representation for May is 05.

Before connecting to Axess, allow 24 hours for processing your new SUNet ID. When you accept the admission offer, you will be eligible for Axess services such as applying for housing, updating your address, etc.

Publications

The publications listed under the heading, Graduate Study at Stanford, are electronic versions of printed information that will be mailed to you beginning in mid-March. We hope the Bay Area Lifestyle links will prove informative and useful to your moving plans. The section entitled What's Next? displays key dates between now and your arrival on campus. These are the occasions when you can expect communications from us or when you will need to take action to confirm your student status.

Please feel free to contact the Registrar's Office to let us know how we can make this site more useful to you.
