Important Information Regarding COVID-19

For quickest response to an issue, please submit a ServiceNow Ticket to the Student Services Center. If you prefer to talk to an SSC Specialist, we offer advising sessions via Zoom by appointment. SSC specialists are also available for live chat from LiveChat Monday – Friday, 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. via the Service Now portal.

Preferred Name

Students may request that their "Preferred Name" be different from their legal name of record. The "Preferred Name" is used for services such as email, appears on the unofficial transcript, display name in Axess, and display name on class/grade rosters. Examples: change a legal name of "Mary Jane Poe" to "MJ Poe", or "Frederick Andrew Wright" to "Andy Wright".

Note that the diploma name should match the primary name of record. See How Your Name Appears on the Diploma for information on the diploma name.

To change your  “Preferred Name”, you can go to "Personal Information" in Axess, and click on “Names", and edit as desired. International students may change their 'Preferred Name' by following the same instructions as other students.
