All Post Office boxes will be automatically renewed at the beginning of each academic year for registered students.
If you currently have a P.O. box assignment and will be an active student effective September 1, 2020, your P.O. box will be automatically renewed for the upcoming year. No action on your part is required.
Freshmen and transfer students are automatically assigned a P.O box.
Graduate students can go directly to the Post Office if they would like to request a P.O. Box for the upcoming year.
For undergraduates who do not currently have a P.O. box assigned, new P.O. boxes will be available for assignment on or after September 9, 2020.
After September 9, undergraduates should submit a ticket to the Student Services Center
The non-refundable P.O. box rental fee is $83.00 for a one-year rental beginning on September 1 and ending on August 31. Per quarter or partial year rentals are not available. You must be a registered student within the academic year to acquire a Stanford University P.O. box.
Note to undergraduates: Every undergraduate is required to maintain a P.O. Box on campus to receive mail. Unless you live in one of the 36 Row Houses, you will not be able to receive mail at your student residence. If you do not live in a Row House or maintain a P.O. Box, you will be unable to receive mail on campus.
The U.S. Post Office sorts the mail into the P.O. boxes. Access to P.O. boxes is 24 hours a day, seven days a week. U.S. mail parcels and U.S. Express mail may be sent to the box; a card or a key will be put into the box to notify the recipient that a package is waiting for pick-up.
If you require a replacement key for your P.O. box, go directly to the Post Office to request a new key. A replacement fee may be applied.
FedEx and UPS will not deliver to a P.O. box. Direct all FedEx and UPS packages to:

If you are leaving Stanford for the summer, please submit a temporary change of address or mail forwarding order at www.USPS.com. Do not forget to enter a stop date. If you are leaving campus permanently, please submit a change of address form at www.USPS.com.
A permanent change of address will remove your P.O. Box permanently, and your P.O. Box will be assigned to another student.
P.O. Boxes may not be shared. Only mail addressed to you, or members of your family with the same last name, will be delivered. No mail in care of (c/o) your name will be accepted.
Your box cannot be used to accept mail for a club, group function, consulting group, business, or events of any kind. It also cannot be used to accept surveys or fundraiser responses.
P.O. boxes must be used in compliance with USPS and University policies.
Any deviations from the rules described above will cause your mail to be returned to sender, or could result in a termination of your P.O. box.
