The secondary major is an option used when a student completes course requirements for more than one major, but may not meet the requirements outlined for the multiple major option. For example, you may develop a course plan in which courses required for one major overlap with requirements for another. In these cases, you may declare a secondary major which results in the transcript bearing an annotation that the course requirements for that major have also been met.
Secondary majors do not appear on the diploma. Students who wish to add or remove a secondary major should do so through Axess under the main drop down menu, "declare major/minor". All changes to the major, minor, or secondary majors can be done through Axess as long as the student has not applied to graduate. If the student has applied they must submit the following Service Request to have the change done manually.
